WE ARE EXTATIC~JUST SO HAPPY, YEP, I SHED MORE TEARS, BUT HAPPY TEARS!!

THE NEXT STEP WAS TO MEET WITH LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTRY LAND AND WATER DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT~

THIS IS OUR FINAL STEP THAT WE WILL NEED TO COMPLETE! (HOPING)

UNFORTANTLY WE WERE TOO LATE TO GET ON THE OCTOBER MEETING AGENDA, HOWEVER, WE HAVE THE PERMIT APPLICATION COMPLETED, PAID THE APPLICATION AND FILING FEE, NOW WE WAIT FOR THE LETTER THAT WE WILL BE ON THE NOVEMEBER AGENDA, THERE WILL BE ON ON-SITE VISIT NOV. 1ST AND OFF TO THE MEETING 7:00 P.M. NOV 2ND!

We are looking for help with Office Work and Light Cleaning and looking for Assistance on the Ice this winter -Resort Laborer Position’s Available!

• Winter Season
• Starting pay $15.00/hour – pay based on experience and performance
• Variable Schedule Weekdays and / or Weekends – Very flexible with number of days, whether 1 or more days.  Mornings or Afternoons, number of hours, etc. Come see me and we can take a look at what works!!
• Holidays off – if you want to work the holiday pay is time and a half
• Winter campsite available free of charge if you have some type of winterized RV or wheelhouse to reside in. Pay your own propane and electricity.  Campsite available winter only. Shower tokens Free-Further details discussed in depth with interview/employment.
• Free hot noon meal with beverage every day.  This is for all team members.  Any and all other meals, food, beverages will be on your own the remainder of each day.
• Fishing on your day off.  Opportunity to fish on your day off in our personal scouting day house, this would need to be pre-arranged with Connie.

Job Description- Office – Light Cleaning – Basic detail

• Guy’s or Gals can apply
• We are looking to have 2 team members to cover the office and light cleaning duties 7 days a week.  Right now, we have Jess, Kala, and me and would like some extra hands to help out!  Come join us!!!
• Office work: Guest check-in and check-out
• Watching over coffee bar area, making coffee, keeping it clean, restocking supplies.
• Keeping an eye on noon crock pot meal, keep snacks available, keep staff food area clean
• Customer service to assist any and all that come to our office
• Light cleaning duties: Office, Guest bathroom’s, Guest Shower area, Fish Cleaning tables 1 x/each day, occasionally 2x/day. Could be occasional cleaning of sleepers on ice, this can be discussed at interview.

• Assist Dale with moving sleepers and day houses to new fishing spot-more details about this routine at time of interview
• Banking of Fish houses each day
• Fueling Generators
• Propane tanks: transporting of and setting up on fish houses, switching tanks.

Harbor Update

2 weeks ago, we were required to make additional changes to our design per request of DNR. We contacted our engineer, made the corrections and uploaded the revised design and documentation to MPAR for review and approval by DNR.

Spoke to Brent, DNR, last Thursday and he was going to review the changes. As of today, we have no further information. 

Hoping today, each day, we are notified of the results.

Water levels are now below the Ordinary High-Water Mark

We continue to receive updates from the Lake of the Woods notice board. We are continuing to remove the protective berm we built to keep the high water out of our resort.  We have been able to regain campsite #5 for the remainder of the fall season.  We have done a lot of removal of debris, replanted grass seed and scraped off the layer of silt left on the campsite pad’s that have been underwater since May.

Clean – Clean – Clean

Our Dear Kala has been cleaning to beat the band over the last couple weeks. Kala cleans our sleepers after each stay and these last 2 weeks she has also deep cleaned our 4 – 10 x 14 Day house and our scouting 8×12 Day house.

Kala is amazing, she works 2 other jobs and has her own massage business, WOW is she something else. Real blessed to have her with us, that’s for sure.

Terry and Jan, who volunteer here in the summer, pitched in with cleaning duties before they headed back home to Wisconsin.

Jan and I washed windows, Terry got the small pressure washer out and cleaned the fish cleaning building as well as the men’s and women’s bathroom/shower building.

Painting

 Painting is down to a little touch up and we can call it good!

Thank you to Lindi, Terry, and Kala who helped me paint all our Sleeper bathroom’s and all our Sleeper generator boxes.

All that is left is for me to get all the garbage cans fastened down, totes filled with supplies (T.P.)! and reflective tape on all corners!!

In between all this we still have our camping going on!  We have campsites open until the end of October and we can even be available for Deer Hunting in November!

DNR encourages deer hunters to make a plan for archery season

Minnesota’s archery deer season opens on Saturday, Sept. 17.

We’re encouraging hunters to make a plan

for their season by considering safety,

hunting regulations, chronic wasting disease and steps

they can take to process their deer.

Office Assistant with housekeeping duties as well – Winter Season

We are asking for someone to come join our small team to help with guest’s checking in and checking out with their fishing trip here at Dale’s On Lake of the Woods.

Assisting with winter lake access guests at our drive up window.

We would need help watching over our office coffee bar area and employee kitchen area throughout the work day.

This would include, at times, housekeeping duties freshening up our bathroom and shower house and may include cleaning our Sleeper fish house’s after each group leaves for home.  There would be occasional folding of towels, cleaning office area, restocking supplies.

Must have exceptional customer service skills, kind / strong heart, time management skills.

Team opening for men or women, daytime hours, 4 days a week which some days will be on the weekends.
