Winter Weekly Drawing Update

Beautiful bright sunny morning here at Dale’s On Lake of the Woods!

What have we been up to since the end of Walleye Season-WELL!

We had lots of extra hands at the end of OUR season, the third week of March.

Huge Thank you to ALL who came to help moving all our fish houses to shore!

We continued to have our winter lake access open right up to the Sunday April 13th and some of

our winter camping guests fished on Monday even.

What is the lake status today, April 26th?   Lake is still covered with ice, obviously not safe ice, seeing more open areas. 

I enjoy my walk to the shoreline each day and listen to the ice making noise as it deteriorates.

We welcome you to come to our website and on our Front page, at the bottom of the page, is our webcam live view of the lake, come see the ice change to open water. 

Now let’s update you on our projects since March:

1. Harbor channel is dug, and we are now armoring the sides of the channel
2. We have 6 sections of docks built and with two days of rain coming this week we will have more built in no time.
3. 24 New firepits with cooking grill built by Adamski Metal Works, Mountain Iron, MN. Son, Justin, picked the firepits up in Mountain Iron, delivered them here.  Justin and Jayden seasoned each firepit with Linseed oil and placed one in all 24 campsites. Big Job Done.
4. Summer sitting area in front of office all set up with chairs, new cushions and new cushion covers for chairs. 
5. Firepit ring all set up in front of Resort office.
6. Grounds clean-up: Matt spent most of a day walking the resort grounds with garbage bag in hand picking up debris,
7. many miles put on in one day, whew!!  Thank you, Matt!!
8. Steve N, one of our winter camping guests, has been repairing the door frames and thresholds of all the sleeper fish houses for us.   Also, installing a new garage door this week!  Super great help! Thank you, Steve!
9. Macey, Matt and I cleaned sleepers, which there is still more cleaning to do in the next couple weeks here.
10. Fish locators put away for the summer!
11. Dale and I did stop and enjoy a couple days in Ely, MN, went to the International Wolf Center, I enjoyed time at the Pebble Spa, visited some of the shops in town, played cards with our family, watched our granddaughter and her team play softball.  We enjoyed Easter here at home with a wonderful traditional Easter dinner, hid baskets, Easter egg hunt and we all enjoyed our own Corn Hole Tournament.  Jayden took first place, Matt took second place, and Lindi took third place all treated with a chocolate Easter Bunny!

Well, that is it in a nutshell for the most part, more to come!

We are excited to enjoy summer camping, swimming, boating, and fishing!

COME JOIN US! 

The guys took a day to pick up the materials needed to start building the docks for our new harbor!

We are checking the harbor area each day for conditions to get started on removing the final 50 feet of the channel.

In the meantime, “let’s build the docks!

Dale put in some rollers -helping with the back!!

5 Done – Many more to go!   Warms up a bit we will pressure wash the floats!

Richard, owner of Swift Electric has been here and has delivered the wire for the electrical on the docks, ordering all the electrical boxes and main power materials need, and will start getting the bending of the Conduent started.
