Winter Lake Access

It's this way!

GET BEYOND THE USUAL FISHING SPOTS TO THE RICH TRADITION OF GULL ROCK AREA

Each winter, our goal is to create a safe ice route to Gull Rock, Arneson’s Reef, 16-mile Reef, and even about 1- 4 miles beyond 16-mile Reef, if possible. Using Dale’s own fabricated plows, we work hard – often at night – to get the job done.

Plowing an ice road is no easy task, however. Snow, wind, ice, and the time to plow all must get taken into consideration.  Plowing to these areas will only happen if the ice conditions are good to get to these reefs. Serving our Sleeper and Day house guests also takes priority.

These reefs are favorites for many people, but winter can be unpredictable. We are on the lake early each day and check the plowed areas for changes due to snow and wind.

Please call our Lake Access line - (218) 442-6661 - between 6:30am and 10pm daily for any and all route status updates and closings. This number is a home phone. Please do not call outside of the hours listed.
